On October 3, Copper Hill School was recognized by goHunterdon at their annual recognition ceremony at the Stanton Ridge Country Club. The Copper Hill Cougars earned Silver Level for goHunterdon's Safe Routes to School Program. In addition, Copper Hill was celebrated as a Safe Routes to School Champion of Hunterdon County because the Cougars exemplified the goals of the Safe Routes to School Program. Copper Hill School partnered with goHunterdon to implement an inclusive traffic garden and initiated inclusive learning opportunities for students in the Autism program. Copper Hill School was commended for its commitment to student bicycle and pedestrian safety and assistance with ensuring that safety education is inclusive of all students, particularly those with special education needs. Reading-Fleming Intermediate School 5th-Grade Language Arts/Social Studies Teacher Hannah Azofeifa-Ureña was selected as the Fred Cotterell Social Studies Teacher of the Year for the State of New Jersey. She was presented with this distinguished award at the September 11 Flemington-Raritan Board of Education meeting by Executive Director Hank Bitten from the New Jersey Council for the Social Studies along with school and district administrators. Her family and colleagues were thrilled to celebrate her achievement too. Congratulations, Hannah!
