Three cheers for RFIS! Reading-Fleming Intermediate School was proudly represented at the New Jersey Department of Education’s Teacher Climate and Culture Institute, held at The College of New Jersey on July 29. Dr. Tony DeMarco, Mrs. Vanessa Ahmed, Mrs. Lori Koehler, and Mrs. Sarah Opdyke presented on Creating a School Culture of Empowerment. Their session highlighted how RFIS embraces a distributive leadership model, one that empowers educators to lead through their unique skills and expertise. This leadership approach builds trust, fosters shared ownership, and engages teachers in decision-making. Strengthening school climate, this framework boosts teacher confidence and positively impacts student learning. Administrators and educators from across the state gained insight into how RFIS is leading the way in cultivating a thriving and collaborative school community. We're so proud of our Huskies!

We were thrilled to welcome our new staff members to New Faculty Orientation on August 26. This group of dedicated educators is a mix of veteran teachers, recent college graduates, local residents, and even parents with children in our schools. They include grade-level, subject-specific and support teachers, Child Study Team members, Speech Language Pathologists, a Library Media Specialist, related arts educators and more. They each bring a unique perspective to their craft and our schools are proud to welcome them through our doors. We wish them the very best in the new school year!
