FRSD Take Your Child to Work Day Reminder -- Our district acknowledges April 23 as Take Your Child to Work Day. To anticipate the number of children who will be out of school on April 23, please use each school's absence form to record your child's absence. Under the reason for the absence, select the option marked Other, then note that the absence is for Take Your Child to Work Day. Please submit your child's absence by April 20. Thank you for your cooperation.

Congratulations, again, to Rebecca Moeri for being named the Hunterdon County School Counselor of the Year! She was honored at an awards ceremony hosted by the New Jersey School Counselors Association on March 24. The award honors the professionals who devote their careers to serving as advocates – and often lifesavers – for the nation’s students. Candidates are selected for the Counselor of the County Award at their county-level school counselor associations. They are selected because of their ability to deliver an effective school counseling program which focuses on academic development, career counseling, and personal/social support. They further distinguish themselves by proving to be leaders of systemic change, advocates for students, and collaborative professionals who seek the success of the “whole” student in school and in life. School will be closed for Spring Break from Friday, April 3 through Friday, April 10. Students will return to school on Monday, April 13th as this is a make up day for the February 23 snow closing. It will be a B Day/Day 4.
Congratulations to the J.P. Case Middle School band students who took part in the CJMEA Middle School Honors Band. They performed in a concert at Monroe Middle School on March 21 alongside other students from middle schools in Central Jersey. Students are accepted into the group through director nomination. It is with great excitement and pride that the Flemington-Raritan Regional School District Board of Education announces the appointment of Dr. Clifford Burns as the next Superintendent of Schools. At the March 18, 2026 Board meeting, the Board unanimously approved Dr. Burns’ contract, which takes effect on July 1, 2026, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our district and the community it serves. Copper Hill School 4th grader Taylor Shamy is the recipient of this year's Hunterdon County Librarians Association's Enthusiastic Reader Award. Out of all 4th-grade students in Hunterdon County, Taylor was chosen to receive this special recognition. She will be celebrated at the Enthusiastic Reader Awards ceremony on May 20 at the Hunterdon County Library Headquarters.
Through the generosity of the PTO, J.P. Case Middle School welcomed Holocaust survivor Tova Friedman on March 6. Ms. Friedman spoke to the 8th-grade class as a culminating moment in their studies of the Holocaust. As a long-time guest speaker at J.P. Case, this was Ms. Friedman's first visit back to the school since Covid. Ms. Friedman is one of the youngest survivors of the Holocaust, having endured life in Auschwitz-Birkenau as a small child. During her talk with students, she shared her first-hand account of her childhood experiences, focusing on the impact of hatred, prejudice, silence and injustice. She emphasized resilience and hope and encouraged empathy, respect for diversity, and personal responsibility in building a more compassionate world. The students were moved by her story and many remained after the assembly to meet and talk with Ms. Friedman for a more personal connection. Her closing line to students... "Leave the world a better place than you found it; that's it. It's that simple."
