Just a friendly reminder that we are so excited to welcome our newest Cougars to Copper Hill next week! We can’t wait to meet our kindergarten students and families at Kindergarten Orientation on Tuesday, August 25 at 9:00 AM. You’ll have an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, see their classroom, connect with our PTO, and let your child experience a little bit of what makes Copper Hill so special. Students will also have the chance to ride a school bus! We are looking forward to seeing all of our new Cougars and helping make the start of kindergarten an exciting and memorable experience.

The Flemington-Raritan Regional Board of Education invites interested citizens of Raritan Township to apply for appointment as Raritan Township representative on the Board. The term of the appointment will run until December 31, 2026.
To become a member of the Board, an applicant must:
• Be able to read and write;
• Hold U.S. citizenship and one year's residency in Raritan Township;
• Have no interest in any contract with or claim against the Board;
• Not hold office as mayor or member of any municipal governing body within the Flemington- Raritan
Regional School District;
• Be registered to vote in Raritan Township and not be disqualified as a voter under N.J.S.A. 19:4-1; and
• Satisfy a criminal history background check pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:12-1.

The deadline for submitting a resume and cover letter is Monday, August 17, 2026 at 3:30 p.m. The Board anticipates interviewing candidate(s) on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at the Board’s regularly scheduled meeting.

Our Board of Education will hold a special meeting tonight, July 30, at 6 PM at J.P. Case Middle School for the purpose of considering a resolution to proceed with a school facilities referendum. The Copper Hill PTO supported another year of Jumpstart to Kindergarten, a summer program designed to help students prepare for their transition into Kindergarten in the fall. During the camp, students toured the school and enjoyed visiting Mr. Lockett in his office. These Cougars are ready for learning!

This week, 4th graders at Copper Hill held an Economics Fair, which operates like a student led garage sale, to end their final Social Studies unit. Students made items, brought items from home, and created games to raise money for a charity that will be voted on in the coming days. The students raised over $1,000 by using many of the skills found within the economics unit taught by Mrs. Veneziano and Mrs. Staikos. The entire school was invited to attend and shop at the fair.
Many thanks to the 4th Grade Girl Scouts for their outstanding service project at Copper Hill School. The scouts spent time cleaning, weeding, and planting in front of the school building as well as in the Outdoor Learning Center. We are grateful for their hard work and dedication in helping to beautify our school grounds and enhance these spaces for our students and staff to enjoy.
